Free Spay and Neuter for Pets

Placer County residents may pick up free spay/neuter vouchers for their dogs and cats at Placer County Animal Care Services between 9 AM and 12 PM, Tuesday through Friday, at 11251 B Avenue in Auburn, or by calling (530) 886-5540.  Additional funding has made it possible to extend this program.  As in the past, vouchers will be available as long as supplies last.

Provided as a free service by Friends of Placer County Animal Shelter, the non-profit affiliate of Placer County Animal Care Services, the vouchers are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and are available regardless of personal income or the number of animals per household.  Residents have a choice of participating veterinarians.

Placer County animal shelters receive more than 11,000 unwanted dogs and cats every year.  Spaying and neutering, has proven to be the most humane and effective means of controlling the pet population, noted shelter supporters.

If you are interested in making a donation to help support this special fund, please make your check payable to Friends of Placer County Animal Shelter, 11251 B Avenue, Auburn, CA  95603. Be sure to mark your check for the “spay/neuter fund”.
